ALCOVE - Simple Gourmet Studio
Alcove is proud to introduce the newest extension of their successful private kitchen concept, ALCOVE – Simple Gourmet Studio (洞天功房). Situated on Staunton Street in Soho District, this multi-level complex offers three different settings for the exploration of wholesome Chinese cuisine: Heaven (天), Earth (地), and Man (人).
Man (人)
The first floor, “Man (人)”, is a Chinese bridal chamber – an intimate setting which brings a sense of closeness and festivity. Bring your friends and family here to discover the various regional tastes of China. The current theme – Hunan cuisine – is refined from the flavors of Chairman Mao’s home province. Taste the fiery subtleties over 9 courses as you feast on a banquet which we think even the Chairman would heartily approve.
Earth (地)
The second floor, “Earth (地)”, is a place for connoisseurs to ground themselves in the art of dim sum. Using organically grown ingredients, dim sum is prepared and steamed right in front of you at the bar. Savor the fragrant aromas as you await the moments of perfection. Interact with the chef and learn the inside stories of each piece in your 10 -course meal. If you have something special in mind, let us know with sufficient notice and we can even customize the dim sum to your preference.
Heaven (天)
The third floor, “Heaven (天)”, is our sky lounge where you can eat, drink, and chat while viewing the moon in a restful outdoor environment. A great place to hold a small private rooftop party where you can enjoy delicacies such as grilled venison, baked clams, skewered mushrooms, and roasted yams. Relax with your friends over a cool beer while we do the sweating for you at the serviced BBQ.
Space being limited, time being short, and festivity being bountiful, do try to book early at least a week in advance. We humbly wait to present your special gastronomic adventures.
